Holiday Train Ride for the kids.

November 29, 2007 – 7:15 am

The Home News Tribune had an article yesterday entitle, “After a holiday train ride, make a stop at Phillipsburg restaurants,” (I looked for the link to the article, but couldn’t find it, sorry.) The New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society with Delaware River Railroad Excursions and Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company (wow that is a mouthful) are hosting a “Polar Express Train Ride” which sounds kinda fun. The kids are encouraged to come in their pajamas and bring their book. During the ride they are read the story (and encourage to follow along in their own book). This seems to be very popular because the only day not sold out yet is December 23 (kids are $14 and adults $20).

They also offer a Santa Claus Train Ride. This is more appealing to me, yet this one seems not as popular considering it is cheaper and not sold out on any date. Poor Santa :(

Personally, I can’t understand why anyone would choose a storybook reading vs. getting time with the gift-giver himself! Yes, I send him my list, I even give him the URL to my Amazon Wishlist, but to have one-on-one time with the Big Man! Who could turn that down…
