Christmas Classics and Awareness.
December 13, 2007 – 7:49 pmFirst I’d like to plug what I think is the best Christmas movie - The Very First Noel. My kids love it! It is relatively new and bound to be a classic. I can nitpick the theology, but I love the world music theme to the carols and the rhyming narrative. One of the wisemen is reminiscent of jolly old St. Nick.
I watched the Little Drummer Boy with my oldest and youngest tonight and was struck by the bright star that the three kings were following. Whenever I watch the movies with the star I am amazed about how God broke into the non-Jewish world. Even these “outsiders” knew the signs. But is it “even these” or is it that they were so in tune with God that they knew the signs. I wonder how many of us would be able to see God’s signs so clearly and have faith enough to leave what we are doing and where we are comfortable to follow God’s leading?
