Back to the Gym.
January 2, 2008 – 6:28 pmWell, it is back to the gym for me. Back to the monthly checking account withdrawls. Back to the earlier mornings. Back to the vitamin suppliments. In a way I am excited about it and in a way I’m not.
This will be my first attempt at serious training with three kids. The last serious training schedule existed when my youngest son was only a few months old. And last year everything was off and I never really got started. Anyway, I made the adjustments I needed to and I am really looking forward to taking off a few pounds and feeling healthier.
I have a friend that I am trying to get to go to the gym with me. Why? Because it is important to be healthy. Regularly working out (like 30-60 minutes a day) has great benefits to the mind, body, and soul. I talk to him about it. I have learned about training. I have learned about vitamin supplements. I have learned about food (fuel).
Here’s my point and tomorrow when I have a few more minutes I’ll expand on it…
I want my friend to go to the gym with me because I believe it is a good, positive life change for him. I am willing to go with him. I am willing to teach him. And I am open with him about the costs - financial and time. I don’t work at the gym, so it is something I really believe in and will be doing myself.
Jesus is so much healthier than any workout. How’s your evangelism?
