Prayer of a Child.

February 22, 2008 – 7:41 am

Yesterday my four year old son broke out into spontaneous prayer (yes, we are United Methodist). He started into some serious praying. His prayer - that God gives him a little sister!

My two younger brothers’ wives just had baby girls recently. So, I think that is where the idea and prayer is coming from, but that worries me because God is faithful even though we are not planning on having anymore children.

Do you think there is anything to worry about?

  3. My childhood pastor told a story that his son wanted baby brothers. His answer to the son was to pray. After several months the boy grew tired of praying and told his father that he wasn’t going to continue the prayer. His dad acknowledged the decision and they stopped talking about it. After a few months, the father announced to his son that mom was in fact pregnant. He was so excited, but he maintained that he was tired of the prayer and would not resume. Several months later, they did an ultrasound and found that mom was having twins–both were boys! The father went to his son and said, “Aren’t you glad you prayed?” The boy responded, “Aren’t you glad I stopped when I did!”

  4. I think Gods been telling me that if we were to 50 more…they would all be boys.

(Not that there’s anything wrong with that…)

Lets have our daughter say grace for awhile…

  5. Yeah, God does have a way of answering prayers… Thankfully, though, they don’t always get answered in exactly the form we pray them. :-)
