Music - Down to the Depths
March 3, 2008 – 7:43 amMy wife has been song writing. The music is great and it just comes to her. For me, it is powerful to watch her experience the Spirit working within her. I know my sermon prep can be pretty exciting when I am prompted by the Spirit and I run with it.
Anyway, I was reading my friend Markus’ blog called StretchyChurch. When I was at Fuller, Markus and I worked in the same office. I would say that we worked together, but Markus was doing some pretty cool stuff with video and audio editing and I was the guy who would just duplicate tapes all day. Anyway, Markus was the one who introduced me to website design. Pretty cool, huh.
Well, he has set a couple of songs to video. One song they opened Ash Wednesday worship with. That got me thinking… My wife’s song would be perfect for Good Friday and I could set it to video that could be used as is or they could play live and just roll the video.
So, my goal is to set her song to video for Good Friday. Here are two copies of Denise’s song - Down to the Depths. Take a listen. Any thoughts?
Version 1 is live at church. Version 2 is a studio ruff cut.
