A Vacation of Life Lessons.
July 18, 2008 – 4:25 amLesson 1: [from the Musselman] The human body can endure more than I think it can.
Lesson 2: [from riding about 30 miles of the bike portion of the race in a lightning storm] New York State Troopers have control over lightning and there is nothing to worry about, so just keep going.
Lesson 3: [from swimming in Lake Erie] My in-laws house can be a really nice beach get away. (It’s only taken me 10 years to figure this one out.)
Lesson 4: [from Laurie's lack of concern about her Mom's views on a proper marriage in the church] When people are genuinely concerned about things of God, often it is because there are proven real-life consequences to our actions (as well as eternal, but who can worry about eternity when they are in love).
Lesson 5: [from listening to Fox News way to much] Liberal is not a bad word and Jesus was not concerned about politics, but instead concerned about people.
Lesson 6: [from driving home] Four hours on a bike in pouring rain makes driving eight hours with three kids seem a lot shorter and much more bearable.

It’s great that even on vacation we are always learning! Even when we don’t want to

It is great to keep learning, and it’s good to know that my very own family can teach me some good lessons!
